Soul Hunters - Chapter 2
So after a freaking hour, we are still in the queue. Thankfully, we got to sit under the canopy they set up, but still…
I regret not eating before coming. What the hell is wrong with me?
Anyway, I was focused on playing a game on Mother’s phone, Disney World—pretty nice game.
I’m lying… it sucks! But I had nothing to do to pass this boredom, so I had to deal with it. Plus, mother is already busily talking with some other parents. Such charisma!
How come I don’t have that? Wait, I have, but my sorry ass is so shy, I would rather count pebbles than talk with people. Please don’t blame me. I’ve never had friends since childhood. By friends, I mean people who are like me. There were some potential ones, but not much, and they weren’t here either.
As I played this boring games, someone approached me.
“Yo Kwarteng!” He said, disrespectfully. Kid, I was your class prefect in JHS. Show some respect! Yeah, he was my mate in JHS, Vanistora, who was also the Assistant Boys’ Prefect at that time. Now that he’s here, I remember I wasn’t the only unlucky guy to get St. Hubert. Beautiful!
“Yo Osae! Did you also get St. Hubert?” I asked an obvious question. How stupid am I? What the hell would he be doing here if it wasn’t for admission?
“Yes. I came with my older sister. Dad is busy.” He answered, excusing my stupid question, but what’s with the sister part? Like I care, which I obviously do. Where is she?! Show me that sexy, beautiful sister of yours!
Yes, as old as he was, he was the last born out of like five children. Just imagine.
“Where is she?” I asked.
“She’s older than you,” He answered with a smug smile. Dude! I don’t like your sister! And I know she’s older than me.
“Ah boy!” I exclaimed, looking at him like the idiot that he was.
“She’s inside. I just came out to check if Seth was in yet,” Vanistora said while looking at his phone screen.
It turns out, this mf came out to look for Seth, another of my mates in JHS. I had been successfully ignored.
I don’t blame him though. I don’t use a phone. The sad life of Kelvin.
“I heard Nana Korang is also here,” I said, already planning on giving this guy a good beating out of good will.
“Yeah,”
“Vani,” a beautiful voice suddenly called. We both turned to see a beautiful lady coming towards us.
The End folks! I’m in love!!!
*Cough*
“Kelvin. It’s our turn,” Mother suddenly called out to me as she approached.
“Oh, good afternoon. You already got a friend?” Mother asks.
“JHS mate.” I say.
“Nice to meet you,” Mother said as she led the way into the building.
I just entered the court of hell. Wish me luck!
Or…
Damn you all! There’s another fucking queue here!
So we waited! Eventually, Vanistora entered again with his sister. Apparently, they went to do a photocopy of his B. E. C. E. results. Thankfully, we did that earlier thanks to Dad.
Others also entered while we moved slowly along and it was finally our turn.
We were first asked to produce my results and some other paperwork.
My results were pretty normal as compared to my magnificence. Aggregate 10.
We produced the paperwork and every other thing expected of us then we moved on to the admission process.
First was my Course of study. I wanted to pursue Science. Why?
I wanted to be a mad scientist. Creating drugs, chemicals and inventing stuff.
The process was pretty simple and we finished in no time.
Now the next was dormitory assignment and other domestic stuff.
This is where everything starts to get heated and interesting.
I could already feel the aura of the Headmaster Domestic from where I sat, once again, in a queue.
Like hell, these people love queues!!!
