No turning back - Chapter 8

What will it be, was the last thing I heard before everything went quiet. Sitting on the bed, Bill on my left and the investigator facing me, waiting for my answer. The two policemen standing by the door.

Then I heard it from him again, what will it be? Will you stay with your other family relatives or will you be with a new family. Hearing this made me began imagining myself with a new family, happily smiling , eating warm meals,listening to bed time stories, all what I watched in movies.

Then I remembered her, Lana an angel who didn’t deserve this, any of this , remembering the scars on her body, lifeless shell in the dark, her blonde hair which reflected was full of dirt, lifeless and tarnished.

Remembering all this brought back my promise I made to her. Coming back to reality I asked if I could stay with Bill, the corner of my eyes I saw Bill was surprised and didn’t expect to be chosen, seeing the joy on his face I felt relieved and happy to have chosen him.
